Session-Timeout Empty Session-Timeout

Post by stefanvonderkrone Thu May 29, 2014 8:57 am

Hello there,
I'm working on a web-app, that communicates with the starexec-server to poll and display some data from jobs. In order to do this, I need to get a valid session, of course. Logging in is no problem, despite that I have no real test, wether I'm successfully logged in or not. (Currently I try to test, wether a request returns a redirect to a certain location, but that's apparently not that reliable)
After a successful login, the user gets a session (JSESSIONID) without any specific expiration date. So my question is: what is the internal session-timeout, after which a new login is required?

Thanks!

Hi, Stefan. Your project sounds cool! Let us know if we can provide any functionality that will help you. I assume you have taken a look at the source code for StarExecCommand:

https://svn.divms.uiowa.edu/repos/clc/projects/starexec/dev/deployed/latest/starexec/src/org/starexec/command

(usename and password are both "guest" for this).

Finally, to answer your question: our session timeout is currently set at 60 minutes.
