Expected downtime
We have a new deploy to push out, that includes another substantial schema change. We are not sure how long it will take to apply that change, but we expect probably a couple hours. So StarExec will go down for a while, probably this afternoon or else tomorrow morning.

Re: Expected downtime
StarExec is back up now. Let us know if you observe any problems with the new deploy (it looks like we may have a couple bugs in there following the schema change, so I wouldn't be surprised if we deploy again, with just a few minutes downtime, later today).

Re: Expected downtime
Hi, Johannes.
A schema change is a change to the database schema, typically adding or removing some columns. These schema changes, as we have found out, can take some time, when tables are large and have a number of indices. The job_pairs table for StarExec takes 25GB on disk, and has something like 40 million rows. It also has quite a few indices, to speed up access. So it took over 3 hours yesterday to apply that change.
